While we offer an exquisite dining experience at Triton with the island’s finest private chefs, chances are you’ll still want to leave the villa and explore the culinary scene in Turks and Caicos. We don’t blame you. There are, indeed, some fantastic restaurants to choose from on Providenciales. And if you’re looking for a truly local experience, where you can enjoy fresh seafood and more right on the beach, we know the perfect place: Kalooki’s Restaurant.
Kalooki’s is located in Blue Hills, one of the original settlements on Providenciales. And Blue Hills itself is worth the drive as a seaside neighborhood with homes and other buildings painted in various Caribbean pastel colors. Blue Hills exudes an old island charm that offers a glimpse into the Turks and Caicos of yesteryear. After your visit to Kalooki’s, we recommend you take a cruise through Blue Hills.
But first, there’s lunch. Kalooki’s sits on the beach, offering its patrons stunning views of the ocean and a refreshing sea breeze. It’s hard not to relax when you’re there. There’s always music playing, and the servers are attentive and friendly.
Kalooki’s is known for its island fare, but its menu has something for everyone. The lobster bruschetta (it’s served with conch out of lobster season, which is just as tasty) is a must for starters. You can also order cracked conch (which is essentially fried conch), or the best fish tacos on the island. If you’re a vegetarian, don’t fret—Kalooki’s also has a vegetarian section, offering up dishes like curried tofu and a three-bean veggie stew.
Can’t live without meat? There’s something for you, too. Try the stuffed jerk chicken breast or the BBQ ribs. Speaking of BBQ, it’s also one of the restaurant’s specialties, with Kalooki’s hosting a Beach BBQ with live music every Saturday starting at 6 pm.
But what to drink? When it comes to cocktails and other beverages, Kalooki’s has you covered. They have a wide-ranging drinks menu, from martinis to smoothies. Try their signature drink, appropriately called a “Happy”: peach, passionfruit, ginger ale and white rum, served with lime. It’s deliciously refreshing, and we guarantee it will live up to its name.
OK, we’re officially thirsty… and hungry. Want to see the full menu? You can find it on the Kalooki’s website. For more information and tips on things to do in Turks and Caicos, get in touch with the Triton team. We’re always happy to help you have the best experience during your time in TCI.
